Concepts List Revealed + Challenge

Some of you have noted that I often mention my “concept list” in the Artist’s Comments of deviations. Yes, there is an actual list. And yes, I have been essentially going down that list and doing every concept that I can. However, I get distracted easily either by new concepts…or butterflies so I’m still not even close to finishing this list. And as I figure, I probably will not finish conceptualizing all these ideas…unless I get a little help


So now, here is the challenge for you:

Pick any of the concepts listed below and conceptualize it in any way you want in any medium you choose (photography is preferred but all mediums are accepted).  Note me with your finished deviation and I will add it to my collections. In a few months, I will do a large, long feature on the best deviations, best conceptualization, and most creative interpretations for each concept.

Please include in the Artist’s Comments of your deviation the following:
1. Which concept you are conceptualizing (ex. 31. Worth – criticism of obsession over waist size with inches belts)
2. Your interpretation or thoughts of the concept  (ex. My weight should not be inversely proportional to my worth as a human being)

1. Eye candy – literalism with eyes and candy
2. Hair spray – literalism with hair and spray bottles
3. Less to love? – criticism or parody of Fox’s More To Love
4. Where is the love? – Half heart half hand
5. The Sea is Calling – Seashell phone
6. Books will take you flying – Book birds
7. Earth is a Jewel – Earth as a pearl in an oyster
8. Natural shower – lotus pod as a shower head
9. Peace in love and heart break – heart on fingers making peace sign
10. Natural nails – petal nails
11. Smitten in mittens – portrait of mittens and kittens
12. I rule – literalism with rulers
13. Smile – perspective play with smilie ball tossed in the air over face
14. No Girls Aloud/Allowed – zipper mouth
15. Hardheaded – bald head next to head-shaped rock
16. Cliché – photo of lone tree placed in a field
17. Love at first sight is deceitful – lady bug meets lady bug pin/drawn lady bug
18. Amelie – cherry earrings
19. The Sun – yellow flower in the sky
20. My Sunshine – girl with yellow dress jumping into the sky
21. C-Section – belly button tic tac toe
22. Afterglow (C-section) – zipper near belly button
23. Eye-opener – zipper eye
24. Crack open the sun – perspective play of sun at sunrise with egg shells held on both sides
25. White out the sky – perspective play with whiteout and clouds
26. Death sentence – cigarette coffin
27. We (are) matter – drawing and holding up signs with words
28. Divided by color, united by shadows – light and shadow play with different colored objects
29. Surf’s up – surfing on an ironing table
30. Abstinence – lock on pants
31. Worth – criticism of obsession over waist size with inches belts
32. Light up my life – perspective play with matches and sun
33. Choke on food – criticism of obesity with a food noose
34. Dirty mouth – sock tongue
35. Earthly Conception – chicken egg as the egg and bean sprouts as sperm
36. Heart in a blender – pig heart in a blender
37. Colors of nature – branches sharpened to look like color pencils
38. Censorship – Page cannot be displayed 404 error in book
39. You made me the black sheep – painting a sheep black
40. I love toast – toast with heart shaped jam
41. My statistically significant other – couples portrait
42. Feed squirrels nuts not bolts – word play with person feeding squirrels bolts
43. “Ransom notes keep falling from your mouth” – literalism
44. “We are the rabbits” – portrait with rabbit ears hiding
45. “You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take” – vintage camera portrait
46. “The correlation between opinions and accolades… “ – NA
47. “Age is not an excuse for ignorance dear” – NA
48. “Happiness is contingent on another human being” – NA
49. At the end of the rainbow – rainbow socks in the grass
50. Meeting expectations – reaching for the words expectations
