Materials and Methods I've always wanted to try this but could never figure out how because the cherry would always float So this time the cherry was attached to a white Styrofoam piece with a sewing needle. It was then submerged in a vase filled with seltzer water. The Styrofoam was a bit larger than the vase so that it would create greater tension and wouldn't float; the tension made the Styrofoam piece bend/curve a bit. A laptop monitor with this: [link] picture of polka dots was placed behind the vase to provide the background.
